After a long hiatus, we are pleased to announce the release of YPOPs! Version 0.9.5.9 for Windows.

Yahoo! Mail has made numerous changes at their end and we are trying to keep up with those changes! With this release you should be able to download emails. Sending emails might not work for all. We are working on fix that in a subsequent release.

All these changes will eventually make it back into the 0.9.6.x series, which is a cleaner and more improved code base compared to early releases.

Download this version.

I've started working on YPOPs! 0.9.6 to address the numerous bugs plaguing YPOPs! currently. Most of these have been introduced thanks to the changes introduced by Yahoo! over the last few weeks.

Head over to the Discussion Forums and respond to the thread on this topic.

YPOPs! is still very much alive and the new release will be aimed at addressing as many issues as possible.

YPOPs! is a free open source software that provides POP3 and SMTP access to Yahoo! Mail. You can use your favourite email client, be it Outlook, Thunderbird, or whatever else you like and connect to Yahoo! Mail seamlessly.

YPOPs! is an application that provides POP3 and SMTP access to Yahoo! Mail.

How do we do it you ask?
Well, this application is more like a gateway. It provides a POP3 server interface at one end to talk to email clients and an HTTP client (browser) interface at the other which allows it to talk to Yahoo! The same concept holds good for SMTP as well.
